Truths and Fictions.
A Journey from Documentary to Digital Photography.

Photographs by Pedro Meyer. Introduction by Joan Fontcuberta.
Aperture, New York, 1995. 136 pp., 128 four color and black-and-white illustrations, 11x9½".

Truths and Fictions is the most comprehensive collection to date of a single artist's work using digital technology. Pedro Meyer is one of Latin America's preeminent photographers, and is a pioneer in the field of digital imaging. His photographs are wonderful storytellers by themselves, and with the wizardry of new computer technology, he is able to juxtapose fantastic images in realistic and surrealistic ways. Even with the added dimension of digital treatment, his photographs manage to maintain a sense of narrative and spirituality which makes them truly intriguing.
