Fifty-nine institutions collaborated to produce a remarkable range of exhibitions. Photographs are reproduced, along with a one page description from each of the participants, including The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Center for Photography, The Contemporary Art Museum, Rice University, and the many galleries in the downtown Houston area. Major shows include "A Robert Frank Retrospective," "The Indelible Image" (war photographs), "New Photography in Germany," "Bernard Faucon," "Robert Rauschenberg," "Post-1945 American Photography," and "Contemporary Texas Photography." Anne Tucker, curator at the Fine Arts Museum, contributes an essay on the history of the Texas photographic scene.
