Altered Landscapes: The Photographs of John Pfahl.
Untitled 26.

Photographs by John Pfahl. Text by James Alinder and Peter Bunnell.
Friends of Photography, Carmel, CA, 1981. In English. 56 pp., color illustrations, 9x12".

A book devoted to the work of John Pfahl, one of the most interesting of the conceptual photographers working today. Within his landscape photos, Pfahl uses colored lines, spheres, aluminum foil, and other materials, in playing with the translation of the three-dimensional outer world into the two-dimensional picture plane. For example, six oranges (actually spheres of different sizes) are laid on a path through a forest so as to appear the same size when photographed.
