This important, exquisitely printed book, published in conjunction with exhibitions at the Getty Museum and the Huntington Library and Art Gallery, contains 100 images that fully illustrate the complete range of the Pictorialist movement in Southern and Northern California. The movement's goal was the romantic expression of beauty, taking the varied forms of landscape, Hollywood portraits, and modern dance photographs. Included are works by Imogen Cunningham, Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and others.
