Tediousphilia.

Photographs by Laia Abril.
Musee De L'elysee, Paris, France, 2014. 122 pp., color illustrations, 10¼x8".

Publisher's Description

In her photographic projects, Laia Abril often deals with the not-that-virtual realities the Internet offers. For instance, the fact that thousands of young couples are setting up businesses, simply and quickly, from the comfort of their own bedrooms. Usually unemployed, affected by the economic crisis, and unafraid of exposing their intimacy, these enterprising pairs offer live sex performances online. One can watch a live stream of them waiting, ready to have sex for you, until the moment a payment is made. This book, based on Abril’s series documenting the boringness and tedium suffered by these couples in standby, is a manual for “newcomers” to webcam peepshows.
