''There are two things my sister's death taught me: You cannot lose someone you love, and every conceivable cruelty exists.''
In the book Still Here, photographer Vivian Rutsch searches for answers to the deaths of her 17-year-old sister and father, the sexual abuse in her family, and the inadequate investigations. In doing so, she comes across a social phenomenon of unexplained deaths in Germany. Photographs, diary entries, illustrations, and texts illustrate the incredible story of this family in a gripping and personal way.
Vivian Rutsch (1994) studied photojournalism and documentary photography in Hanover. Her work has been exhibited at the Lumix Festival, Hanover, Visa off, Perpignan, and the Zingst Photo Festival, among others.
