Theory of Colours.

Written by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Translated from German with Notes and Introduction by Deane B. Judd.
MIT Press, Cambridge, 1970. 423 pp., 5x8".

Goethe's theory based on his personal observation of color, repudiated the wavelength theory of light. Although this theory has been disproven, this essay can still be appreciated for the beauty of its aesthetics and experimental methodology.
