Edited by Roswitha Fricke. Designed by Egidio Marzona. Foreword by Eugene J. Prakapas.
MIT Press, Cambridge, 1985. 315 pp., 9½x11".

Originally published in German by Edition Marzona, this new American edition makes available for the first time translated texts discussing the Bauhaus archives. Included is work by Lucia Moholy, Lászlo Moholy-Nagy, Andreas and Lux Feininger, Paul Citroen, Umbo, and Herbert Bayer. Although there are photographs of other Bauhaus artists' work--sculpture and furniture, the book predominately contains art photographs. Also included is a section on the use of photography with typography, an example of a Bauhaus Dessau lesson plan, and documents of classroom projects.
