New Mexicans in Cameo and Camera.
New Deal Documentation of Twentieth Century Lives.

Edited by Marta Weigle. Photographs, art and writings from New Mexico Federal Works Project.
University of New Mexico Press, Albuquerque, 1985. 228 pp., 8x10".

This collection of writings and visual work done under the auspices of the New Deal agencies in New Mexico, provides a valuable resource for those interested in the social history of the state, the history of New Deal documentation, or general photohistory. Weigle has organized the sections of the book geographically, and juxtaposes art, photographs and writings produced in the same area. Only a few of the photographs of the more well-known FSA photographers, such as John Collier and Dorothea Lange, have been previously published.
