Eliot Porter.

Foreword by Martha A. Sandweiss.
New York Graphic Society, Boston, 1987. 280 pp., 134 color, 25 duotone illustrations, 9¾x12½".

Eliot Porter was one of this century's great gentleman photographers--travelling the world and modestly translating that experience into great artwork. This volume may be the ultimate tribute to his long career. It was produced for a major retrospective exhibition that opened at the Amon Carter Museum in 1987 and includes everything from his impressionistic autumn forest images to his "chaotic" rocks. Also included are landscapes from Iceland, China, Kenya, Egypt, Greece, and Mexico. The reproductions, as well as the overall production and selection make this title very collectible.
