Silent Passage.

Photographs by Mikael Levin.
Hudson Hills Press, New York, 1988. 52 pp., 41 duotone plates, 9x10½".

These subtle, beautifully seen photographs of a pond in Sweden were made by Mikael Levin over a period of five summers. He says of the experience that "Usually I photographed from a rowboat. I would row to a particular spot, then let myself by carried by the current, looking, occasionally taking a picture." Quiet, deeply meditative, and richly printed duotone photographs that make one want to look again and again.
