"Our second and third
Instruction Manuals for Terri Weifenbach's work feature
21. April 1996 (Bee) and
25. June 1996 (Blue Sky). Each book is printed in an edition of 500 numbered and signed copies, and each contains an original Type C print. The details, reproduced in offset color, function as emotional operating instructions for viewing the photographs from which they were taken. The Type C prints are archivally processed, and measure 2 x 4 inches. Weifenbach's
Instruction Manual No. 1, released in 2000, sold out upon publication. It was awarded runner-up for photo-eye's Best Conceptual Book of the Year. "-the publisher.
"[Weifenbach's] minimalist images of sky and ground recall the abstract rectangles of Mark Rothko. Other images are more intricate, infused with an assortment of blaring reds and mellower greens and beiges. In all, harsher angles are buffered, making ordinary material appear unexpectedly lyrical."-ARTnews.
