Publisher's Description
A photographic book by Giada Ripa that began investigating religious minorities along the Silk Road (now known as the Oil Route). Her research on the stories and origins of the people slowly led her to reflect on the transitory nature of these territories and on her own personal identity. Created in Turkestan, The Caucasus or in Central Asia, the images record instances of not belonging and are born from the author?s awarness of the transitory nature of one?s own presence, thus searching for the identity of others as well as her own. A solid bond hence unites the apparently impartial testimonies to the fleeting self-portraits that mark the rhythm of her journey.

Published in occasion of the author's first museum exhibition in Moscow (Moscow Museum of Modern Art).
