Roshin Books, 2014. 80 pp., 67 black & white illustrations, 8½x11¾".

Publisher's Description
Born in 1979, Gen Sakuma is a street photographer based on Tokyo and founder of TAP Gallery in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa. Photographing all over the Tokyo region, 'Go There' is a compilation of Sakuma's work completed after his first solo exhibition.

'For me, wandering about the streets, pointing and pressing the shutter button on what I encounter there, may be quite like how I collected insects as a young child, absorbed in the hunt until past sundown.

Instead of the insects I once hunted, now the people and things I encounter throughout the city, the scenes detected by my radar, are caught in the finder of the camera I hold in place of the insect net, capturing them onto film. I keep walking, in order to come upon such scenes. I walk as if to crawl through Tokyo's streets.' -Gen Sakuma

The book is beautifully designed with silk-screened red cloth boards and Sakuma's trademark glasses embossed into the cover.
