Publisher's Description
16 Barbs to the Back is a photo collage box that explores the transient nature of relationships. The overturned ladder symbolizes a personal upset, and a bloodline escapes from a pierce in the main figure’s back.
On the right hand side of the box is another figure, separated from the main subject by an impenetrable closet; the front of the closet displays part of Pablo Neruda’s “Soul Clenched,” which is about a love lost.
The window in the very front of the box features fingers holding a quill and the window is encircled by 16 wooden barbs. The inside of the front door is sculpted with paper maché and then painted in acrylic media.
