Publisher's Description

Photographer Aaron Stern’s newest publication, The Greatest Colors for the Emptiest Parts of the World, a title borrowed from poet Carl Phillips, is a collection of abstract works. Through the use of digital manipulation in the form of layering and collage, Stern’s photographs create a disorienting landscape of something that may have once been in focus, but is now only vaguely familiar — it’s a feeling of that which is lost, and with it, the inevitable evanescing of time, place, and memory.
