MENU was produced and published as part of PRINTING SHOW, held on 14 October 2012 at Tate Modern, London.

PRINTING SHOW is a re-staging of MORIYAMA DAIDO PRINTING SHOW performed at the Shimizu Gallery in Tokyo, March 23 to 31, 1974. In lieu of mounting photographic prints on the walls of the gallery, Moriyama brought in a photocopy machine and silkscreen printing station. Using this equipment, he generated an ad-hoc photobook composed of photocopied sheets staple-bound inside a silk screen cover. That book was called Another Country in New York, making use of photographs that he shot while in New York City in the winter of 1971.

In its 2012 re-staging in London, Moriyama produced MENU, featuring work from throughout Moriyama’s career and recent colour work. Attendees at the event were invited to participate in the edit and sequence their own copy of MENU, choosing from a menu of 48 double-sided sheets and two cover options. As a result, each copy of the edition is unique.
