Publisher's Description

An exceptional panorama of contemporary Iranian photography.

This book brings together the works of 66 photographers and questions the Iranian reality through a game of confrontations between documentary images and visual vision. A step taken by Anahita Ghabaian and Newsha Tavakolian to better highlight Iran's intertwined stories and photography since the 1979 revolution. Focusing on private and intimate life, individual and collective identity, Contemporary Iranian photography also addresses social and political issues, accompanying a society in motion. Subtle and far from clichés, she proves with this book its brilliant maturity.
