Man's Best Friend.

Photographs and drawings by William Wegman. Introduction by Laurance Wieder.
Harry N. Abrams, New York, 1982. 44 pp., 10x12".

For many years, artist William Wegman photographed his Weimaraner, Man Ray. This monograph reproduces the fruitful results of this collaboration--photographs that are humorous and inventive. Most of the original photographs were made on the Polaroid 20x24 color camera; the images are rich in both color and detail and well reproduced in this volume. Laurance Weider's introductory essay traces the evolution of this extended and highly unusual portrait.
