Carl Mydans Photojournalist.

Photographs by Carl Mydans. Interview by Philip B. Kunhardt.
Harry N. Abrams, New York, 1985. 208 pp., 9¾x11½".

Mydans, best known for his work for the Farm Security Administration during the Depression and for Life magazine, writes a substantial introduction to his retrospective monograph. He recalls his career as a photographer of the Great Depression, World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam, and of political and artist figures such as Faulkner, Pound, Stein, Khrushchev, Truman, Gandhi, and Churchill. Long overdue, this monograph brings together some of the best pictures by this greatly respected photojournalist.
