1993
Attended Horizons Art Camp in Amherst, Massachusetts after my sophomore year in high school. I studied photography and drawing and found that I was much better at photography.
1996
Moved to New York to attend NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. I majored in Photography and Imaging.
1998
Interned at Texas Monthly magazine over the summer. There was not an art department internship at the time, but I was able to meet Art Director, DJ Stout. He continues to introduce me to people and opportunities that help further my career.
1999
Attended a photography show at the El Paso Museum of Art, featuring photographer, Max Aguilera-Hellweg's portraits from Texas/Mexico border towns. That day I decided that I was going to get over my fear of photographing people. A couple of days later, I took my first portrait with a 4x5 camera.

2000
Met writer Ricardo Ainslie at a dinner party. He was working on a book about Jasper, Texas, and the dragging murder of James Byrd, Jr. That night, I offered my photographic services to the project, which in turn became a several year long process of photographing, exhibiting, and publication. The Jasper work has been my most celebrated project thus far.
2005
Began working as a stills photographer and field producer on The Eyes of Me, a documentary film about four blind teenagers. In working on this film, I was introduced to the community at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
2007
I was added to the masthead of Texas Monthly magazine as a contributing photographer, which was a huge honor. I continue to work as an editorial photographer for several national publications.
