While living and working in Europe for many years, the seeds were planted for my interest in the link between historical events and the human condition.

Discussions began with pinhole photographer and educator Jerry Stratton on the nature of creativity and photographic mark-making. These discussions continue to this day.

An antique panoramic camera belonging to my great-grandfather became my primary photographic tool.

|

1995
|
Read a human interest story in the New York Times on traditional apple growing in Japan. This leads eventually to the "Seeking Perfection" project.

Research trip to France inspires "Tears of Stone" project.
